Our Programmes
LARVAE PROGRAMME
Nile Bioeconomic Innovations Ltd (NBI) in collaboration with local and international partners have designed a novel technology and commercialized model for rearing Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae as the eco-friendly and sustainable approach for management of biodegradable waste from households, institutions, markets and factories in Uganda and the region.
COMPREHENSIVE BIOENERGY PROGRAMME
Nile Bioeconomic Innovations Ltd has pioneered a Comprehensive Bioenergy Program that aims to assure sustainable supply of solid, liquid and gaseous bioenergy products as well as generate significant quantities of ecofriendly electric power for industrial, commercial and household use using the latest technology. Through the community focused sustainable agroforestry, all the feedstock required for producing the various bioenergy products is produced using models that are socially acceptable and environmentally sustainable.
ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION
NBI’s Ecosystem Restoration Initiative is designed to contribute to these global ecosystem restoration programs as well as the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to the Paris Agreement. Any participation under NBI’s Ecosystem Restoration Initiative will be recorded and reported for national and global recognition.
FISH FARMING PROGRAMME
Fish farming (Aquaculture) is the fastest growing mode of food production in the world; as a result of limited wild fishery landings and a rise in the demand for lean white meat. Furthermore, increase in human population, desertification, environmental degradation and construction/urbanization are continuously reducing the available arable land while increasing the demand for food. One of the available, expandable sources of food is through fish farming.
